SO FAR, too good...

I nearly maxed out the specs on this craptop, and thus far couldn't really be much happier. Wish it had a USB port or 2 on the back (just cuz I have a stand that holds it on the sides), but for what it is, it's pretty close to perfect. I will update this if anything goes horribly wrong. Wish the boot splash showed what key is needed to enter BIOS but it was easy enough to figure out looking at a manual. They also send a DISC with the drivers & manual but the comp has no optical drive! I asked them that in email and there was a specific reason for that. Those are the only bad things I can say, but for the GOOD THINGS:
Once I got the BIOS open, everything flowed like warm butter onto some tasty fresh lobster. Easy to format, it flies how I would expect, I know how to optimize an OS, so it's great. My last craptop was in ~2008 and when it was obsolete I left the craptop world absolutely hating them altogether. Apparently they're better all across the board, but I'm very picky looking for one with specs & ports that I want. You can ball out (nerd out) with confidence with this thing.
Potentially most importantly, these guys answer questions you have - and fast. These guys were answering my questions at 1AM on a Sunday night via email! They will help you. No long hold times and 3 tier customer service emails/phones & useless "did you try unplugging it" BS. These guys talk to you like a human, and that's not lost on me. I really appreciate it, and you probably will too if you're reading this.
Really great laptop that can handle my work and gaming needs

I got this laptop to do work and a little gaming on. Turns out I'm doing a little more gaming than I initially planned because this thing is such a great platform for it. I did have a hick-up initially with an issue where the laptop would freeze randomly but after contacting Eluktronics they sent me a Bios update that fixed everything and I have not had a problem since. They were very responsive about the issue and their fix was easy and worked perfectly. Screen is beautiful, laptop is fairly light, gaming is unbelievable...oh and I can get some work done on it too. :)

Finding this gem buried in the gaming laptop search on Amazon was the best thing that happened to me. I bought mine on their website because you can customize it
Windows 10 home
i7-7700HQ Quad Core
8 GB Ram
4 GB GTX 1050 Ti
512 GB M.2 Performance SSD
The build quality is excellent. I've heard that they buy premium parts in bulk in order to sell you a quality laptop at a good price. While it is a gaming laptop of sorts, it certainly does not have the gaudy look that other gaming laptops have. It doesn't come with bloatware, which is a huge plus. The fan can run pretty loud, but this is not a major issue for me since I'm usually gaming and have my headphones in. My only complaint is that the headphone jack and USB ports on the right side are down towards the bottom, which is annoying if you are using a mouse. Other than that, excellent laptop, highly recommended

The following is based on my personal experience
-stays cool during demanding activity
-Random freezes sometimes
-Battery dies super fast unless you're in power & battery saver mode and not doing anything heavy.
-Recording still manages to produce lag (depending on software it will need to be tweaked)
-Got 2 blue screens so far for nothing
-Did not receive my free 16gb usb

This is a good Company to buy from. They get my 5 STAR review.Great customer service.
After 3 months of research I decided to buy an N850 from ELUKTRIONICS,
With limited time discount I paid $1,254.00. I was content that I had made a good purchase.
With free shipping ,my laptop arrived 4 days after ordering. The packaging was standard and items arrived undamaged.
After the usual initial User set-up. I started checking the features of my new acquisition. All seemed good. Everything worked. WIFI worked. The external dvd player, played a Beatles Cd just fine. Now that I have pleasing tunes to listen I continue with my Inspection. The speakers ,as reviewed by others are not the greatest. But I suppose most users will be using headphones. These Speakers are 50% better than the speakers of the ASUS ROG STRIX GL553VD-DS71, which I ordered & returned earlier this year.
So let’s press on. I wanted higher end graphics system so I opted for 4GB 1050Ti GTX.
The Nvidia software is built -in allowing you to select between the 2 video systems.
I ordered 256gb SSD. Which as it turns out was a good choice because Windows 10 takes 40GB of space even with a "non Bloat" Install.
I also opted to the recovery USB. Nice feature for $10.00. Also came with a Windows 10 OS DVD and a product key.
As Stated earlier,While not a gamer, I wanted a higher end graphics system.I found this laptop with all the same specs as ASUS DS74 in a Eluktronics N850 Series 15.6-Inch NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX Laptop. Which has the GTX 1050Ti video card. But does not come with on board DVD player. So with seller discount code I only paid $50.00 more for my new acquisition vs Asus. Which includes an external USB DVD Writer and Windows 10 Recovery CD.
One noticeable trait is the temperature control is variable & automatic. So the fan may spin up noticeably, (normal condition) to control the CPU temperature. This will happen When doing multi tasks.
But may take some time to become accustomed to.
The Screen is bright, clear. Frame is sturdy. Layout is clean. Back-it keys are Nice but not necessary for my purposes, Minimal Indicator lighting. No cap lock light. Have not bothered setting up finger print reader. Boot-up is less than a minute. Battery run-time is about 2hrs for normal surfing.
The touch pad is as good as the one on my older Lenovo T61. But the left & right buttons are not raised. So takes some time to become accustomed to finding then.
I ordered a Elecom track Ball ,problem solved.
Eluktronics offers customer a free 16G USB drive if You complete a review.(disclosure)

After researching potential laptop purchases and reviewing literally hundreds of different brands, models, and configurations, I felt that this particular model was the best combination of components and price. The most recent Intel i7 chipset and Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics card create an incredible level of performance. The Eluktronics brand was particularly appealing as it is based in the United States and is a small but growing and competitive company that places a high level of importance on quality and customer service.
The laptop itself is lightweight and very well designed. If you don't need the bells and whistles and just want the focus of the design to be on performance and solid design, this model is perfect. When combined with the NVME solid state drive, the responsiveness to loading applications is at levels that I have never experienced before and I have been using laptops regularly since 2000. I would recommend choosing the additional cooling option - even while the fan is running the laptop is not hot on the bottom, unlike my MacBook Pro which felt like a heating pad most of the time and required a laptop cooling mat.
This model is well equipped to handle the most demanding applications and still be functional and appropriate for everyday tasks. I also like the fact that it does not come with additional unneeded software pre-loaded as seen with other major manufacturers.
I have extensive experience working with Toshiba, HP, Lenovo, and Apple laptops - for a Windows PC this is the best laptop that I have used so far - I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, high performance laptop.
So Far So Great

Just unboxed my new laptop and have been putting it through its paces the last 2 hrs. It is every bit the beast I expected it to be. I am not a hard core gamer, but I've been sync'ing thousands of emails, downloading all kinds of programs and updates, whilst Chromecasting a show and streaming netflix on a different monitor. The thing barely breaks a sweat. Programs and services I used to wait 20-30 seconds to load now take 5 seconds.
If I have one complaint, it would be that the fan is louder than I am used to. I've read other reviews talking about how quiet Eluktronics are, but my limited experience is different. To be clear, it isn't super loud, it just definitely isn't quiet. Of course I am trying to push it to the brink, so I don't expect this to happen all the time.
Still, all in all, it is a great machine and well worth my money. Definitely 5 stars.
