Can't beat this!
I added the following to my N850HP6 15.6-in Laptop:
Windows 10 Home
1TB 7200RPM SATA III HARD DISK
THERMAL COMPOUND TO CPU & GPU
USB Recovery Media
First, right out of the box this thing is gorgeous! I love the color so much and I love how the ELUKTRONICS logo is not flashy or bright! Yes this laptop is made of some sort of plastic shell but it does not feel cheap at all. For the weight it is perfect for me because I did not want something to heavy or light either like a Macbook Air laptop. Now for the insides. The SSD and HDD I chose work like a champ! Boot up is extremely fast and so is the shutdown. The CPU is super fast and so far I have had no issues with it. The GPU is amazing as well. I have only ran a few games like LoL, Black Squad and WoW, with all settings maxed and have had zero issues. Like I stated above I chose to get the thermal paste added to the CPU and GPU, so far I have had zero heating issues. The only thing I wish was that I had proof that they actually added this thermal paste...but it has not over heated yet so they must have. Typing for this laptop is really good, but I still prefer my mechanical keyboard (just a personal thing). When fans are maxed out it is not all that loud. If you have a headset on gaming you will not even notice. Track-pad works good, I do not use it much because I hook up a mouse.
Now for the only CON I have about this laptop. I read this in other reviews and was hoping they were just complaining to complain but the positions of the USB's on the right side are bad!!!! It makes it where I have to extend my arm more to the right to use a mouse without hitting any cables that are connected. I am not going to lie it get's pretty annoying. But there is a really easy solution for this and it is not expensive. Go on amazon and get a USB hub and just connect it to a USB on the left side of the system and then you are good to go!
Overall for the price you can't beat this! All the other laptops in this price range will not come with specs like this. You will get the i7 and 1060, but you will not get 16G's of RAM and a 512G SSD and 1TB HDD and etc.... If I buy another laptop in the future it will be from these guys for sure. Highly recommend.
N850HP6 15.6" GTX 1060 Gaming Laptop
I researched many different laptops before deciding on one from Eluktronics. I got the Core i7 7700HQ (quadcore) processor, 16GB of DDR4 2400mhz RAM (1 DIMM), and the 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD, and of course the GTX 1060 6GB. After using it for a couple weeks, I'm very happy that I chose to buy from Eluktronics. Everything works perfectly. I installed the OS and then the drivers that came with the package, and started bench-marking everything.
I've bench-marked the CPU and the GPU and both are performing very well. The memory & GPU are overclockable, but the CPU is not. The GPU idles at different temps depending on what you set your fans to do. It seems that without any fans running at all (with a very "silent" fan preference) it idles around 58C. CPU idles around 50 - 55C.
Under full synthetic load, the GPU didn't crack 83C (which included my overclock). I don't know if I just got lucky or what, but my 1060 was able to take a 200MHz OC on the core, and a whopping 800MHz on the memory. I've gone with a 175MHz on the core and 750mhz on the memory to be safe. OC at your own risk. :)
I've gamed with this for hours on end and it never goes above 83C on the GPU. I'm using a pretty conservative fan profile, so it's not very loud. With the max fans on, I'm sure it wouldn't crack 75C or so, but it's quite loud. I'm able to get 50 - 60 FPS on my most demanding game, which is Skyrim Special Edition, with about 60 mods installed. Screenshots below:
The gaming performance itself is really nice. I get no stuttering or dropped frames at all, ever, even under 99% load on the GPU (which during Skyrim, is basically all the time). At 1080p, this can basically run anything you throw at it, getting a consistent 50-60 FPS no problem. Prepare to have a great gaming experience.
As for the CPU, with a very CPU demanding game, like No Man's Sky, the performance of the 7700HQ is great! The temps average around 75C and spike up to 85C-ish for a second or two during high demand.
As for the laptop in general, I have only good things to say. The keyboard is beautiful and works great, with very little screen wobble. With the three sections of backlight you can get a lot of color combinations, and with the software (included) you can do all kinds of cool flashing patterns or glow effects. The keyboard is very comfy for gaming. The track pad works fine, clicking works good. I use a mouse, so this isn't something I'm using very often.
I love the design of this case! It's just angular enough to look cool, but not so harsh that it screams "GAMER." There's no bright colored accents, either, which is great. It's classy. I could totally take this thing to a meeting or school and it wouldn't be out of place at all, which was a big selling point for me.
The webcam placement is great, right at the top center. The power button is gorgeous and is honestly the best looking and best placed power button I've used. The build quality is nice, I've not used a ton of laptops so I can't compare, really, but I really like the feel of it. It's got all the I/O I'll ever need. I'm happy that it has Ethernet, because I use that all the time. The power cord placement is great, on the left side, and it has an angled connector, to boot.
The power brick rocks! It's nice and flat, so it will fit inside a laptop bag very easily. It only gets warm to the touch, even under load.
The WiFi speeds are unreal. I get like 8MB/s download over 5G, the heck!? I didn't even know that was possible, haha. It also comes with bluetooth, which is really nice if you want to connect wirelessly to other peripherals.
The 60hz IPS panel is beautiful. It's got really nice brightness and the default contrast is really good, it almost looks like HDR. Comparing it side-by-side to my TV, the contrast and color is dramatically deeper and richer. The response time is great, with no noticeable lag at all. Viewing angle is great.
The sound output is really nice over the audio jack, it sounds clean and full, with no buzzing or any electrical interference on the line. The speakers are decent, great for general use. There is no subwoofer, but it's plenty loud enough for hearing everything, even across the room.
It weighs about 6-ish pounds and the brick is 2-ish pounds, so expect about 8-ish pounds in total. This isn't a 'thin & light', so don't expect it to be, haha.
Battery life is good, considering it has a 1060 inside. I get about 3-4 hours with general use, on the lowest brightness (which is still perfectly bright when you are inside).
There's honestly nothing I can think of to improve this device. It does everything that I want, and nothing that I don't want. Other laptops with the same specs will cost a minimum of $1500, and up to $1800, and you might have to deal with gamer-ey "aesthetics" and bloatware.
The only thing I can think of that could be better is thermals, but for this price, what you are getting is pretty amazing. And the only actual downside to having high thermals (generally) is having more fan noise and reduced performance, but this isn't throttling performance at all, as far as I can tell, and the fans aren't that loud, so no harm done. Just set your GPU V-sync on in Nvidia control center and you'll never crank out more than 60 frames per second, which will really help with temps.
TLDR: This is the best thing out there for your money, buy it now (especially if there's discounts!)
Overall score: 9.5 / 10
Have fun and enjoy this laptop!
