First, I came by this company and tried out this laptop because I can't stand how other companies force you to purchase components you don't want/need, and load useless bloatware on top, voiding your warranty if you modify anything. These guys actually let you leave parts out and do it yourself if you want! And they even provide options from low end to high end. I was looking for just an everyday use laptop (no gaming), so I picked the Pentium Gold processor, 8GB ram, and no hard drive (I like Samsung SSDs, and I can install my own OS to know it is a clean install, and windows 10 is free if you don't mind not being able to change the background). Note, this laptop does not support PCIE/NVM M.2 drives, but does support SATA M.2 or 2.5 inch. Still fast enough for everyday use of course. Unfortunately, my laptop was shipped without the RAM. I carefully detailed exactly what I did and observed in an email to support (it was after hours), and the next day they responded that they would send me the RAM on next day delivery! Excellent service, didn't have to deal with the extensive scripted troubleshooting of other companies. About the laptop, I appreciate how the case is thicker than most so that it is more sturdy. I would prefer a little more strength in the screen, but it is acceptable. It is a cheap plastic case, but I'm ok with that for a low cost laptop. The display is very nice (1920x1080). No dead pixels and good uniformity, low leakage, at least on mine. There's no branding/logos at all on the outside of the laptop, which I find nice. The keyboard is satisfactory (back-lit version was a free upgrade). Overall, they provided exceptional value! $505 before tax (I also picked up a couple minor things, could have been even lower), and I added an $80 SSD. Can't beat that from other major companies!!
